Mental health conditions can affect teens in various areas of their lives, and we work to alleviate those symptoms to help in all areas of their lives. We are here to provide hope and healing for teens who are struggling. We offer a wide range of session options for teens. Below, we break down the services we provide.

Behavioral Health Services we offer

Family therapy sessions

Ascend Behavioral Health provides family therapy, so moms, dads, and siblings can be involved in the healing process. Our therapists help teens and families learn the different symptoms and cope with their feelings. Our family sessions allow for teens to express their feelings with family being included in the healing process. By doing this, families can understand what a teen is going through and can help. At Ascend Behavioral Health, we aim to be a beacon of hope for your teen and your entire family. Allow our therapists to help your teen and family through challenging times.

One-on-one therapy

At Ascend, we offer one-on-one therapy sessions for teens to work more closely with one of our therapists. With group therapy and family therapy, teens can connect with their peers. Traditional individual therapy allows them to discuss their personal thoughts and feelings and reflect. Oftentimes, a teen in our IOP program will supplement their program with family therapy, allowing the parents and family unit to be involved in the treatment process. Our therapists are here to assist you with any case management needs you may have.

Intensive Outpatient Program, IOP

At Ascend Behavioral Health, we provide an Intensive Outpatient Program, IOP. Our IOP meets four times per week, for three hours each session. The IOP program offers teens more time in therapy sessions to gain an understanding of symptoms of mental health. During this time, teens meet in a group setting with a highly skilled therapist. The first half of each session focuses on learning about mental health symptoms, learning about coping skills, and how to use them, and other topics. Following the learning portion of each session, the group can share their experiences and struggles. We use a combination of learning and application to help teens.

Who We Serve

It is Ascend’s mission to serve teens who are struggling with mental health conditions. Often times we serve those who need more help and assistance than their school, outpatient therapist, or families can support. When things get especially difficult in life, Ascend is here to be your beacon of hope.

Typically, teens that find their home at Ascend are struggling with anxiety and/or depression. We often see that teens don’t present with “adult” symptoms of these disorders. They may be irritable and acting out, moody and argumentative, isolating and pushing others away, engaging in self-harm, using drugs or alcohol, or not seeming like themselves. When these concerns are present and they are interfering with school, family life, or friendships, it’s time to consider enrolling in Ascend’s Intensive Outpatient Program.

While we are happy to help assess and refer, often times teens who are actively psychotic, have a developmental disorder, or have a severe eating disorder are better suited for programs who serve these specific disorders.

We hope that everyone is staying safe during these times.

We are fully operational and have implemented video group therapy to continue delivering our quality services, all in the the comfort of your own home.
